Very nice article! It is ironic that fashion- which has so long built on exaggerations of the dualistic gender framework- would now be consciously deconstructing it. You are pointing out that fashion is mirroring the trends in the private parts of public consciousness. There is an ever-expanding pool of new thinking about the conflation of femininity with oppression for females and of masculinity with traits that all too easily become toxic. This has changed the way people look at each other.
Fashion is messaging about what we believe, and we don’t believe anymore in continuing the restrictive enforcements of gender roles and expressions.
