Transphobia, wherever it is found, is a manifestation of the idea that cis is good, trans is bad. I noculate myself by remembering that trans is just trans, not bad. It is a technical definition with reference to the starting point, not the end point. Some people assert that the end point, i.e. status as man or woman, is conditional on the starting point, but that is a function of ignorance.

Is being trans a relevant descriptor? I think so. Can you leave trans behind abd become cis? I don’t think so. But who cares? Defining oneself in a genuine way is a tried and true way to empowerment and peace of mind. We educate those around us rather than suffer their lack of education.
