I feel safe listening to you. A lingering warmth... Thanks!

I am a transfeminine tomboy who also loves to dress in variety of feminine styles when I'm not working. I am clearly male, and that gives others uneasy pause.

I see the stereotypes of butch gay females as in the same basket as a hundred other manifestations of ongoing gender stereotyping in the face of lots of evidence to the contrary! One path towards improving that is to make sure people broaden their understanding by meeting us.

When I finally gave up worrying about what others thought about my femme expression- I felt a deep peace and wonderful coherence as a person. To be completely honest, though, that peace really does depend on others curbing what criticism they may feel- otherwise expressing ourselves becomes an endurance gauntlet.

I stand up for queer freedom, but life is definitely better when we can freely be ourselves. I hope to demonstrate by my demeanor that my gender variance is not actually threatening, and not demanding anything but ordinary courteous tolerance.
